Spam on WordPress Today
by Adam Robbert
I’m not quite sure what’s happening yet, but it appears that a number of spambots have broken through the WordPress spam filter today. I’ve already deleted 15 new comments that appear to be fake (they are all written in horrible english, refer to old posts, and have little to say about the actual content of the posts concerned). This is unusual for WordPress, a company that always seems to be on top of its filtering mechanisms. I’m trying to find more information on the situation. In the mean time, if you have posted a comment in the past 24-48 hrs I may have unintentionally marked it as spam. Hopefully WordPress gets this under control soon.
This is spam. Spam I am. It goes well with green eggs and ham. Wham comes the ban hammer.
