I came across this gem of a quotation while at Forest Books in San Francisco’s Mission District earlier today (in addition to the quote Forest Books was also able to supply me with a solid used copy of William James: His Life and Thought by Meyers).

Nice quote. At the risk of being accused of ‘self-promotion’ which is cute, I would recommend the chapter on Uexkell’s and Heideggers’ Umwelten, as updated by John Deely – in my ‘Primacy of Semiosis’…..A version of the chapter can also be found in Semiotica 134-1/4 (2001), 137-167. Btw its good see more Stengers being translated – I remember working on her ‘Power and Invention’ 15yrs ago…time flies.
Thanks for the citation, I look forward to reading more about it. Promote away!
Thanks, that Integral Studies inst looks v.v. interesting – wish I had known about it a long time ago. I wonder if Grof or Tarnas still works there.
Tarnas is still an active professor there, Grof teaches occasional courses but no semester long classes or anything like that.
